Lost it? LOST IT?! What am I? Chopped liver? Dust in the wind?
Transitory in the ether? damn. I don't get no respect.

I guess that's one way to keep from spinning out. Have they got a name
    for that maneuver yet?

They've been calling it a video game maneuver but I'm sure you could
come up with a better one :-)

A side note, it was the fastest lap a stock car ever ran at
Martinsville. He was doing as much as 70 mph faster than the cars he was passing.

    Watermelon slide.

    Watermelon slide.

At the end of the day going forward with all of the tools in my
toolbox on the table, I am literally embarrassed to admit that my
calculus was sufficiently inefficacious to preclude my determining the relationship that maneuver has with a watermelon. Maybe I need more
    context? Or some new tools.

HIs family grows watermelons commercially in Florida. When he wins he
smashes a watermelon on the ground in celebration. A watermelon has
    become sort of his trademark.

Ah. Ok. Now I don't feel as embarrassed as I originally thought I was
as a result of not knowing that. Thanks.
