Since you don't read your own posts I guess it's unlikely that you
read mine. The "independent" is independent in name only. IOW an IINO.

She's only dependent on rich Republicans. The richest of whom,
Phillip Knight of Nike fame, recently dropped her like a hot rock. Big Surprise! lol He got "Machine Gun" Betsy in the race to give the
Republican a shot at it. At last count he had given the Republican a
cool million and nothing further for the "independent". Chump change for
him. She's what we call a "timber heiress" out here. She has plenty of
money of her own, but nothing like good ol' Phil. He's still trying to
    buy a football championship too.

("Machine Gun" Betsy is a nickname she used to be proud of. She has
a machine gun and a perfect score with the NRA. She hasn't been talking
    about that lately.)

The only real difference between our so called independent and any
other Republican is that she's pro-choice. She had been hanging in there
with the other candidates and running her ads in heavy rotation. But,
she's been lagging in the polls. She's still running ads, but not nearly
as many as she was. What do you want to bet that she had expected more
money from Mr. Knight? LOL He set her up and hung her out to dry.

I've stopped following that race closely because it's a pain in the
ass. Everyone is telling huge lies. I didn't bother to open the link,
but whatever it is, it's likely to have very little behind it if you
track it down. Everyone is playing that game and making outrageous
accusations based on almost nothing. It's great if you enjoy drama, but
after awhile it just gets boring.

If the Republican is elected I don't expect her to get big changes
from our heavily Democratic legislature. If the Democrat is elected they *might* be able to get something useful done. I'm not counting on it
    either way.

I didn't read the article, but I did read the URL. Either way it's
most likely incredible bullshit, as I did mention. I would have thought
that the politician I'm voting for would be obvious from my comments,
but you're oblivious. Oh well. Maybe it will help you if I go back over
the math. Basically there are two Republicans running against one
Democrat because the supposed "independent" is really just another
Republican who is being sponsored by rich Republicans in order to give
the "RINO" a shot at winning.

(I call her a RINO because the Republican doesn't openly support The
Big Lie. In a statewide race that would be the kiss of death here.
Otherwise she's a standard issue Republican.)

I do have a postscript from this morning's reading. This from an
article about where people are moving to and from, based on information
from a big moving company. We ranked #2 for total in-migration.

    "2. Oregon

    Net Migration: 28,800
    Population: 4,142,800
    Median Household Income: $60,073
    Job Growth: 2.3%

The outlook in Oregon is bright. Household incomes are expected to rise
faster than any other state over the next five years and job growth is projected by Moody’s Analytics to be seventh best. By revenue,
Beaverton, Ore.-based Nike is three times larger than the next biggest
Oregon company. The sportswear giant has sales of $36 billion and
projects $50 billion by 2023. Nike’s founder, Phil Knight, is worth $30 billion and is 13 times richer than anyone else in the state."

I lost count, but I think Phil gave Betsy, the so called
independent, 4 or 5 million to get her started before he dropped her and
turned the money hose on the Republican.

Opps, that's what I thought. I forgot to include the URL. I like
to include the URL so no one can accuse me of making up my own facts.
That used to happen a lot. They could be wrong, but at least I have a
source for my "facts". "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. No
one is entitled to their own facts." Except maybe retrumplicans. Oh
    yeah, the URL.

    https://www3.forbes.com/leadership/the-us-states-people-are-fleeing-and-the-ones-they-are-moving-to-version-3-vue/22/

I was a bit off on Mr. Knight's donations to Betsy's campaign. He
handed her another 2 million in September, bringing the total to $3.75
million. He dropped her about a week ago.

"Nike co-founder Phil Knight donated another $2 million to unaffiliated candidate for governor Betsy Johnson early last month, bringing the
total that Oregon’s most well-known billionaire has spent on Johnson to
    $3.75 million.

Huge political spending by Knight and other wealthy individuals and
businesses, including a number of timber businesses and executives, has
helped Johnson outraise Democrat Tina Kotek and Republican Christine
    Drazan."

    https://www.oregonlive.com/politics/2022/10/nike-co-founder-phil-knight-donated-another-2-million-to-betsy-johnson-in-september.html

Like I said, she's been running her adds as often as the
competition. It's common to see competing political ads running one
right after another. If anything I think all that money hurt Betsy more
than it helped her. She's running a distant third in everyone's polls,
except her own. She's constantly claiming to be independent, but all
that money from a small number of people says otherwise. She has those
    folks on speed dial.
