• Good week for MAGA

    From Jerry@21:1/5 to All on Sun Jun 26 23:56:26 2022
    Today is June 26th, 2022 and Joe Biden is the worst President in US
    history.

    And - Trump has been out of office for 18 months, but this has been one
    of his best weeks.

    Hopefully, more cases will be brought to bear that challenge the
    overreach of the Federal Government. They are doing many things that rightfully belong to the various States to decide.
    ~~~~~
    A federal republic is one in which a federal government is given only
    limited powers for limited purposes, while state governments retain most
    powers of government. The Constitution describes this division of
    power, establishing which specific powers have been given to the federal government, while reiterating that most remain with the state
    governments.
    The Constitution’s status as supreme law of the land works in two ways.
    As long as an action of the federal government is authorized by the Constitution, that action supersedes any state or local law with which
    it might conflict.
    However, not every action by the federal government is supreme-- federal activity must also follow from the Constitution or it too is illegal.
    ~~~~~
    And --- we now have a Court that understands that principal and applied
    it in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Bruen and Dobbs
    v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.

    Well, Harry, looks like China's policy had.....umm.....unintended consequences.
    --------------------------------------------------
    The one-child policy, which was implemented nationwide in 1980, forced
    down China’s fertility rate for two generations, and the introduction
    of the two-child policy in 2016 has failed to boost it. Even according
    to the inflated official figures, China’s fertility rate was only 1.3 children per woman in 2020 and 1.1-1.2 children per woman in 2021,
    well below the rates of 1.8, 1.7, and 1.5 predicted by the Chinese authorities, the United Nations, and the US Census Bureau,
    respectively. As a result, the authorities announced a population
    increase of only 480,000 in 2021, compared to increases of two million
    in 2020 and 4.7 million in 2019. It therefore seems inevitable that
    China’s population will begin to decline in 2022, nine years earlier
    than expected. China is facing a demographic crisis that exceeds the imagination of the Chinese authorities and the international
    community. In fact, China’s demographic crisis is much worse than
    official figures suggest. That is why the authorities have rushed out
    a series of measures over the past few months, including restrictions
    on abortion. Likewise, crackdowns on private tutors are part of an
    effort to lower the cost of parenting. --------------------------------------------------- https://www.project-syndicate.org/commentary/china-abortion-restrictions-demographic-crisis-by-yi-fuxian-2022-04

    Looks like they're getting concerned about a growing decline in their population increase. Can't be a world power if your population starts
    to decrease.

    You know what's worse than a know-it-all? A thinks he knows it all.
    That's what liberals are. They couldn't spell Constitution if their
    lives depended on it, much less understand the meanings and whys.

    As to Roe v. Wade being "corrected", if the dumb ass pro deathers hadn't
    pushed the envelop all the way up to and including partial birth, this
    probably would never have happened.

    I don't care how conflicted a woman may be, if she is going to use it as

    to nine months to decide you don't want the child. Something is very

    Very True. I'm willing to be more blunt. Most are really dumb, but not
    all are stupid - as witnessed by the recent polls. No doubt that they
    blame Trump for Biden's poor performance, but they are admitting to
    pollsters that Biden is not doing a good job.

    However, that does not mean that one can have an honest, common sense
    political discussion with them - their dogma/religion it too deeply
    ingrained. They are sure that we are a Democracy and not a
    Constitutional Federal Republic. And, if that Republic BS is true - it
    is wrong headed and a mistake - the majority should always get their way
    - that's fair!.

    Also, we have pissed them off once again. The EPA just got its wings
    severely clipped. The SC sided with WV 6 - 3. A triumvirate of cases
    in a week that reaffirmed our Constitution. And, hopefully, more cases
    to come.

    Sadly, the more a SC decision pisses off the Left the easier it is to
    know that it was a good decision.

    Very True. I'm willing to be more blunt. Most are really dumb, but not

    What if a bloodthirsty mob of Anti-Fas came, to storm the USSC, so they could ring certain justices, and have a "Come to Jesus" moment, with them, about their POV? Wouldn't those judges be sceert?

    Guess those activist Judges, know what's really goin' on? We had an unscalable 8ft fence in the prison I used to work at... Touchees would get 60,000 volts of "Edison Medicine" if they so much as touched it! The prison guard's union, was strictly
    against it, because it eliminated numerous positions for union members...

    Within a week, the electric fence killed every cat in the joint, and mice became a problem... It also killed dozens, upon dozens, of birds, which got the CA.F&G Dept. involved, requiring photos, & IDs of all the birds killed... Every time it
    killed a bird, an alarm would need to be cleared, and the bird ID'd... This was in the days of film cameras... It was a real PITA, because the rank & file union members were forbade to have anything to do with that job killing electric fence, so
    the 50+ Sergeants had to do it! I was often sent on a 2 1/2 mile treck around the perimeter of the prison collecting birds... During the Summer in Avenal, the temp was 105+ in the shade. Of course, there was no shade around the fence... Several
    fat Sergeants got medical chronos, removing them from harm's way....

    As you can imagine, the life of a jailhouse Sergeant is fraught with hazards, and hardship... <snicker>

    I'm happy that the Supremes are coming after all those rights we gave to
    the indians. It's a good start but, hopefully, the states will do more. HawHawHaw!

    The Supreme Court gave states more power over tribal land. Tribes say
    that undermines their autonomy.

    The decision affects how crimes are prosecuted on reservations. It
    upends nearly 200 years of precedents recognizing the right of tribal
    nations to self-govern.
