    According to Dems, just about every shooting these days is a "mass
    shooting", and Dems are disappointed when "children" under 25 years of
    age and "assault weapons" and "large magazines" are not involved. The
    absence of those metrics makes the calculus of their messaging less efficacious. And to the Dems, messaging is everything.
