This loon sounds like a sadly typical trumpie.

"One Dead in Shooting at Portland Protest Against Police Violence
Five other people were wounded in the shooting, which the police said “appeared to be a confrontation between armed protesters and an armed homeowner.”"

By the time I read to the bottom of this story they convinced me
that most of their headline was wrong. According to one of the women who
was shot they were not armed or protesting.

"Prosecutors say video of the incident shows Smith approaching a group
of demonstrators who had gathered that night near Normandale Park to
    protest police violence.

“(Smith) approached the demonstration and confronted several of its participants, yelling at them and demanding they leave the area,”
    prosecutors wrote.

Video then allegedly shows the group telling Smith to “leave them alone
    and return home.”

“(Smith) responds by demanding they ‘make’ him leave and he approaches a participant aggressively, who pushes him back. (Smith) continues to yell
at participants and a few moments later, (Smith) draws a handgun and
fires at multiple people, striking five,” the prosecutors stated.

The shooting ended when a person with the group of demonstrators shot
Smith in the “hip area,” critically wounding him. Law enforcement originally charged that person with first degree assault and unlawful
use of a weapon, both felonies. The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office ultimately decided to bring “no complaint” against the person “based upon our review of facts and evidence.”

OPB has chosen not to name the person because they have not been charged
with a crime, and they did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
Court records show the person is licensed to conceal carry a firearm.

Portland Police Officers have remained at the hospital with Smith since
the shooting and subsequent surgery, court records state."

That certainly sounds like the Portland Police... charge the person engaged in self-defence with a crime

Smith has since been charged with murder and four counts of attempted murder.

That reminds me. The Portland police have a "driving while
Black" problem. I went looking for an update. It turns out our State
government has funded a state wide study of this problem and has been collecting data from our various police agencies. They say it looks like
our State Police may have a problem with motorists and pedestrians of
just about color other than White.

    https://www.opb.org/article/2021/06/22/portland-police-bureau-traffic-stops-racial-disparities/

"A recent study by the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission turned up
evidence that motorists of color are targeted disproportionately in some jurisdictions. For instance, the report found evidence that Oregon State
Police traffic tickets to people of color more frequently than white
drivers. It also found some indication that Portland police cite or
arrest Black motorists more often than white motorists, though those
findings were not conclusive. Oregon’s population is 75% white,
according to the U.S. Census Bureau."

    https://www.opb.org/article/2021/06/22/portland-police-bureau-traffic-stops-racial-disparities/

According to 2019 police bureau data, of the 33,035 vehicle stops
Portland police made that year, 18% were for Black drivers and 65% were
for white drivers. Meanwhile, white people make up 75.1% of the
population, while Black people make up 5.8%.

The discrepancy is even greater for non-moving violation stops, a
category for which, the report says, officers have more room for
discretionary judgement. Black people accounted for 22.6% of those stops compared to 62% for white people.
