Is a fact still a fact if it is positively known by one person but not
able to be proven to others?

Some years ago one of the better trolls from the kibology group stepped
into mensa.talk.misc and asked a clever question that basically wanted
to know whether a particular individual would weigh more on an accurate
scale with lungs filled with air as opposed to being fully exhaled. This question, it appears to me, is of that genre. It did make me look up the definition of fact, so thanks, you've improved my understanding of the universe. We've mostly had crazies posting stuff here for the past few
years so you've offered a very nice change.

    Best regards!

I tried google and various dictionaries, Google just
gives what IT thinks you want but never is (pages referring to the law) dictionaries are not much help either.
It started with someone saying a fact is a fact even if others can not
    see it proven

English is a living language. Words mean what the people driving the
language decide they mean. If people cannot agree on the meaning of a
word then they are possibly talking past one another, and that's a fact!

Fluidity is such a nice word that I enjoy thoroughly. I commend it to
    you.

Was that the one using the odd phrasing, something like "If I expire as hard as I could", leading to talk about the mass of a soul? And now that I've written "mass of a soul", I realize it sounds like a special Catholic service. Oh well, that's just
    the weigh it is.

Unfortunately, we seem to have lost the more entertaining and intelligent crazies here, and it's only the dull and idiotic one left. We need more crazies.

If this post seems odd, it's because I'm reduced to using Google Groups for the time being. I had a hardware failure on my usual (Linux) machine, and it may take a while to get that fixed.

I would add that different languages, and different parts of a language, can have different viscosities.
