    My mother sang this song to me. She was born in 1915. She said her mother sang it to her. There was also a song called Miners Child.Also

    I grew up on the desert of California, the wind would howl thru the windows, Mama would sing THAT song. 60 yers later, when I hear the wond howling, I get cold.

    Its one of those old tin pan alley songs.
