I am looking for the words for a very old song. When I heard it, it was on

    Thank you,

Fargo Fanny was a bold bad girl
But she done things within the law.
She openly admitted every crime that she committed
Cause she done things within the law.

    One day her boyfriends headache
    Was driving him insane
The next day they found him
With a bullet through his brain
    But she convinced the judge
She only meant to kill the pain
But she done things within the law.

Not sure of the parts within quotes:

"A wealthy rancher" disappeared but when the law explored
They found him in the cellar where Fanny had him stored but
Fanny made it legal when she charged him room and board
ho ho she done things within the law.

"Fanny caught a married man" out with someone else's dame
He paid Fanny money not to expose his name
He stayed out of the picture but she kept him in the frame
because she done things within the law.
