This is not an old-time song, but lots of folks with ties to old-time
have done it. I'm curious who learned it from what recordings, etc.,
and what was the original, seminal recording, if there was one.
I think the first time I heard it was at the Mt. Airy fiddlers
convention, 1993 or '94. Can anyone add any more information or recollections?

Vulcan's Britches -- they're from Alabama, as is Walt Aldridge, the
guy who wrote the song.
