At OceanofRagas there are 8 such ragas . ( Lachari Todi , Santuri T , Anjani T ...)
The dilema is where to find the Todi-and in their phrases ...
At the Desi page of Parrikar there is a partial explanation for my inquiries :
" Desi is sometimes denominated as ‘Desi Todi’ but the modern form carries no trace of the Todi-anga "
"As in the case of Desi, the “Todi” appellation is misleading because there is no Todi-anga in Govardhani Todi.
The raga rests on a Desi base and is supplemented with two special interleaving strands, one drawn from Kafi – M’ P’ D’ n’ S – and the other inspired by Darbari – M’ P’ (n’)d’ (n’)d’ S. "

That leaves the question open of how an older Todi with different phrases might have been constructed or what else could have happened through the centuries ...
Fortunately Joep Bor´s book states that during the time of Tansen the old Todi corresponded to today´s Bhairavi that . Can not find more info anywhere .
Would be interesting to know if someone has proposed new names like for Gaud Sarang into Din ki Bihag .
