I have since contacted Mr Govinda Rao through a friend in Madras, and
I am putting down some details here, in case anyone else is interested.
Tyagaraja compositions (688 compositions) first edition published 1995, standard edition Rs 400/-, hardbound Rs 500/-
2nd edition, published 1999 - with full musical notations for all songs-
Rs 800/- & Rs 1,000/- respectively.
Dikshitar compositions (1998) : Rs 500/- & Rs 600/- respectively.
Syamastrigal (the three Sastrys) (1997) : Rs 160/- & Rs. 260/-
He has also published two more booklets - Tyagaraja Aradhana (Ganaraga Pancharatna Kirtana) in 1998, costing Rs. 24/- and Varnamanjari (50 Ata
tala varnas, & pandavarnas, with notations in diacritical script) - 1981 costing Rs 40/-
He is currently working on the works of Swathi Thirunal and will then
move on to Purandara Dasa's works. He expects to complete the latter by
the summer of 2000.
He has suggested that if one is interested in music, one can become a
member by paying Rs 3000/- (US$200 for NRIs and foreign nationals). Each member gets one set of 13 audio cassettes containing songs from the
above publications and a hard bound copy of all Ganamandir publications
He is not very sure about being able to ship the orders received.
Payments can be made by demand draft in favour of "Ganamandir
Publications", payable at Chennai.
