    Hi folks!

    Long time ago I've requested the netters to clear one of my
    doubts. But I might have messed up something; my article
    didn't appear on the net.

    Well, le' me post it again.

    I was discussing one of the beautiful and inspiring ragas -> Kadanakuthuhalam.

    Arohana: Sa Ri(ch) Ma(sh) Da(ch) Ni(?) Ga(an) Pa Sa
    Avarohana: Sa Ni(?) Da(ch) Pa Ma(sh) Ga(an) Ri(ch) Sa

    where
    ch -> chathusruti
    sh -> shudda
    an -> antara

    But I'm not sure of the nishadham.

    If the kadanakuthuhalam is a 'janya raga' of Shankarabharanam(mela
    kartha #29), its 'kakada' nishadham.
    Else if its from Hari-Kambhoji(mela kartha #28), its 'kaisika' nishadham.

    I'm not quite sure of the 'janaka' raga of Kadanakuthuhalam.

    By listening to the raga, I've a nagging doubt that its
    Hari-Kambhoji.

    Can anybody confirm it?

    Thanx.

    Jani.
