• Info needed about Boydie Wayglinn Miller

From James Fabiano@21:1/5 to All on Tue May 31 11:21:48 2022
Hello. I wondered if anyone could help me here. On All In The Family, the Bunkers always sing about "Boydie Wayglinn Miller played songs that made the hit parade." Who is this BWM and what did he/she sing? Or is it "Boyd Ewayglinn Miller?"

I know this is probably a troll but
on the slight chance it's a real
    question, the lyrics [written by
    Lee Adams] are (including the
    penultimate line which many people
didn't get and so after the first
season the actors made a point of
    singing more slowly and clearly):

"Boy, the way Glenn Miller played
songs that made The Hit Parade.
Guys like us we had it made.
    Those were the days.

And you knew who you were then,
girls were girls and men were men.
Mister, we could use a man
    like Herbert Hoover again.

    Didn't need no welfare state,
    everybody pulled his weight.
Gee our old LaSalle ran great.
    Those were the days."

[And if you're too young to know
    who Glenn Miller, Herbert Hoover
and what the Buick LaSalle were,
that's what the internet is for.]
