I don't know if folks been talkin' about this, but ran across it on the MTV web site. A new hip hop cartoon? Anyone seen it yet? If so... how is it? Is it a new regular show on MTV or is it just for hip hop week?

A hip hop cartoon on MTV? They should have called it "Channel Zero",
    that would be serious irony.

Actually I "think" they had Channel Zero in mind when they did this...

Finally saw an episode and I gotta say it is pretty bad. First it is just two
guys introducing videos and doing MST3K style comments while the videos run. One kid is pudgy mainstream head and the other is a skinny underground head. There is also a DJ and a camera kid.

The animation looks like it was generated in realtime on a computer w/o a 2D accelerator... pretty poorly done IMHO. Since all they do is sit there, there isn't much of a story. It's like MTV does things at extremas... either convoluted (i.e. Aeon Flux) or absolutely lacking (i.e. B & Butthead, Celebrity Deathmatch, Station Zero).

There were a couple of lines that cracked me up though:
"See that band-aid on Da Brat's face... she cut herself shaving"
    and
    "That's not cypher"

OK... sometimes I laugh too easily. Actually the show wouldn't be bad for a morning radio show on a hip hop radio station (if one existed) since I've never found farting jokes funny (do people really laugh at those morning shows... goodness they are horrid). But as a mid-day MTV show... it doesn't work. But Celebrity Deathmatch is still on the air and B&B was a huge success. One thing I've learned... you can never underestimate the MTV audience.

They just remember the episode where the boys watches "Find A Way" by A Tribe Called Quest.
