with Win 2k and XP, my AKAI S3000 (+SCSI) appears as an "optical drive" connected to my Tekram low-end SCSI controller. As the Mesa software apparently doesn't work with these systems, though, I've installed Win 98 on another harddisk (runs fairly well). However, the S3000 isn't listed anywhere,

I've selected "MIDI via SCSI" in the S3000's settings and I'm pretty sure
the SCSI connection is OK (e.g., I can address the PC's SCSI drives from
the S3000). BTW, isn't it a bit of a hassle to SWITCH between "normal"
and "SCSI" MIDI connection?

Hallo Alex, wenngleich der Thread inzwischen versteinert und verstaubt ist, kannst Du mir eventuell mit meinem S3000 helfen? IN XP taucht der im Gerätemanager gar nicht auf, also muss da wohl irgendwas faul sein...
Höchstwahrscheinlich wirst Du Deinen S3000 schon gar nicht mehr haben, aber womöglich kannst Du Dich noch dran erinnern und mir helfen. Würde mich über ne Nachricht sehr freuen, dann sehe ich wenigstens, dass ich Dich hier erreichen konnte. Gruß,
