No, Prince used EMGs on his Cloud guitars. His main guitar, the Hohner "telecaster" he's had since the early 80's (tele shape but with strat pickups) he used the Fender Vintage Noiseless, and prior to that, a set of Kinmans that were supposed to be black,
but when they were delivered with white bobbin covers, he made his guitar tech Takumi color them with a black magic marker. That's why, if you watch the Superbowl press conference performance, it looks like he's worn the black off of his pickups.
