Gounod: Petite Symphonie / D'Indy: Chansons et Danses / Taffanel: Quintet / Pierné: Pastorale
Les Solistes de l'Orchestre de Paris

This same ensemble (but with different members) has recorded the pieces by Gounod and d'Indy twice.
In 2021 (the recording I have), with music by Taffanel and Pierné, on Indésens.
In 1975, without other music, on Calliope.
Both recordings have a picture of the same on the front and exactly the same text on the backside.

The music is lovely, and the performances and recording are splendid. Wholeheartedly recommended.

This ensemble recorded also the chamber music with winds by Saint-Saëns, on Indésens, 2 disks.
    Splendid. Same recommendation.
(These works by Saint-Saëns also have been released before on this label, probably the same recordings with the same ensemble, but without the 2 small aditions on the 2021 release.)

Bach: Goldberg vaiations, arranged for chamber orchestra by Bernard Labadie
Les Violons du Roy, Bernard Labadie (Atma)

    This way I like the music much better (than played on just one instrument). There is another recording of such an arrangement (by Józef Koffler), with an ensemble conducted by Pinnock (Linn). I've schosen this one by Labadie after listening to snippets on the web. Pinnock sounds less animated, less lively compared to Labadie;
maybe the arrangement itself is the cause.

There is a recording of the Koffler arrangement by Amadeus Chamber Orchestra (cond. Agnieszka Duczmal). Superb playing in great sound. It is on Spotify in the US, hopefully easily available on similar services in the EU.

Dan... I am not shitting you. This time for real. I am very sure about this - never felt this sure about saying this - Bach, Mozart and Schubert are the only composers I need; this does not mean that I won't occasionally listen to others, but I am more
interested in newer stuff, from Schoenberg on and electronical, or maybe very old stuff, before Bach... I never really liked anything around the time of or before Bach... there was this one song(?) of Merula I thought I liked, but I became disinterested
    fast... maybe I should relisten.

What are some of your favourites of Frescobaldi (no organ)? Never liked anything I heard of him...

I don't like Richter anymore btw; and BWV 582 we already talked about - I think 1-2 years ago. Thing is: I only like the middle movement and not even too much; it's nothing against the partitas, or english suites, or cello suites, or violin sonatas and
    partitas.

I think I should - again - mention that while imo your recommendations after - I would guess - the 1980s are not nearly as good as those before them, that they were mostly on point (still are) and that I - even if we have a different taste - am thankful
    for having encountered them.

Today I listened to Fournier playing the Saint-Saens Cello Concerto - and ahem, while not as beautiful as the beautiful works of Bach, Mozart and Schubert - it has some beautiful bits:
