    Yes, in a way. I have a system with point source speakers like the Altec. And just like the owner of the youtube system has modified the topology with supertweeters, I've modified mine with passive subwoofers. My speakers are inefficient, and I don't
    want to use high output valve amps (I'm concerned they're not reliable) so I use solid state now -- I had good results with an old Radford, because the outbut transformer is so wonderful it can drive anything, but I've moved that to another system now.

    I use very very cheap cables!
