I just bought the EMI Classics of AC as an accompanist; I'll buy anything with Jean-Marie Darre or Marcelle Meyer, and this 4 disc set includes Ciccolini (oh well), Shostakovich playing his Concerto 2,Samson Francois, etc.
I find AC terribly bland an anonymous throughout. Not even deferential, just aonymous, and it sadly diminishes the enjoyment I would otherwise expect to find in the soloists - whom, I must say, don't seem particularly inspired by him either.
Any experiences with this conductor not as accompanist, or in other capacities, that would make me reconsider?
