From Herman@21:1/5 to All on Sat Mar 11 01:03:46 2023
Although I have decided cut back participating in RMCR due to the general hate climate here, let me just reiterate that this discussion of changing the ng to a moderated format is completely ridiculous and disingenuous.
    It's technically unfeasible.
It's also way too ridiculous that the main perpetrator of immoderate behavior, DK, is acting as if he wants a moderator team. Talk about phony. There are about a dozen active participants on RMCR (see the stats), so half the participants would be
    moderators.

Let's name a couple of things that make RMCR an unpleasant environment:
    - calling people racist or anti-semite if you don't agree about music
    - calling people names like brainfucked shithead or imbecile as a matter of routine
    - constantly harrassing other participants on ethnic stereotypes
    - using RMCR as a personal diary, rather than trying to contribute something
    - posting blind links without any info
    - posting non-funny jokes on every single topic, just to leave one's pee mark.

In all these things DK is the main, monumental perpetrator. Him proposing a moderated format is like the lunatics taking over the asylum. The whole antisemitism thing flooding RMCR was instigated by DK. Marc S. ain't no picnic either. but of course all
MS is trying to do is winning DK's approval, by being as antisocial as he is.

Of course there's also the evil finger pointing. Me, Gerard and Melmoth "would love to be moderators" - no we would not. I can only speak for myself, but I would love however for DK to shut his fucking racist mouth. However try telling that to a
    psychopath with zero self-reflection..

Most people do not have the slightest problem with 'moderating' their online behavior, and there is really no need for formal moderation, and fantasy scenarios of a world wide team 'sending posts back for rewrites' - it's totally ludicrous and just an
    crazy fantasy masking bad behavior.
All it takes is some self-reflection on the part of two or three perps, but since these are clearly mental cases who need to build a big fantasy self online, it's not going to happen.

What a funny read btw. And sorry Herman for making you feel uncomfortable here...

Maybe you can create a ng called Herman's safe place or sth.

Did you also decide to cut back participating in RMCR because of TD's crude antisemitic remarks? Ofc not... did you ever call out TD on his antisemitism? Ofc not...

The only one disingenuous here is you.

What you mean? I am the one who brought chaos into this ng, haha - more than DK ever did. Please acknowledge this.

Hmmmm... so, me criticising DK's worldview and calling him names is me trying to win his approval? Hmmm... how does this work out?

In this context it's unpleasant, no more. Remember: the medium is the message.

    - calling people names like brainfucked shithead or imbecile as a matter of routine

That's American culture. Ever seen a roast on the Comic net?

    - constantly harrassing other participants on ethnic stereotypes

That's unpleasant because it would be more than unpleasant if it went the other way.

    - using RMCR as a personal diary, rather than trying to contribute something

A personal diary is a contribution. Reading it is optional.

    - posting blind links without any info

One has only to touch in the link. As long as it doesn't infest our PCs with viruses, it's all right.

    - posting non-funny jokes on every single topic, just to leave one's pee mark.

I lived with an incontinent cat for years - and with bad jokes since the day I was born. Most people aren't funny. It's a gift even rarer than being able to play the violin.

No, that's not US American culture, as in how regular people talk to each other.

You're mixing up what you see on TV with how people live.
