All of my Caucasian sketches are old also. Interesting, I have nothing
at all from Suite no. 2, op. 42. Not sure why.

Box). It is reasonably well recorded and more subtle than Tjeknavorian -
but doubtless from more than 40 years ago...

There's a CD by Tjeknavorian on ASV with the op. 42 - recommended according to my Penguin guide - also included are several other works by I-I. I haven't heard it.

I noticed that I have a Piatagorsky recording of one of the sketches,
called "Danse d'Aoule." I can't find any other source labeling a sketch that way. I wonder which one it is and why it is called that.

In searching for the score I found the following: Oppolitov-Ivanov: Caucasian Sketches (Dans le Define, Dans l'Aoule, Dans la Mosquee, Cortege du Sardar). So it is the one labelled "In the >village" - why Aoule, I don't know...
