A clip showing de la Parra conducting a very popular piece. She is in the Dudes territory, but this sounds excellent to me.

There is a fair bit of Parra and this Paris orchestra on YT, and especially in Revueltas, circa 2015. Workout for the flutes and percussion etc.

Sensemaya (Revueltas) and Sinfonia India (Chavez) I imprinted on from Bernstein, NYPO.

In the danzon style, Rotterdam Conservatory recorded a superb disk for Nimbus.

I see this program also included the Moncayo Huapango -- will have to see some more later.

Here is de la Parra's La Noche de los mayos by Revueltas of the same program. Her facial expressions from 19.50 on are frightening :-

Thanks -- she's very good in this repertoire.

Yes. I have just listened to her with the Cologne orchestra, and it is a complete plod to these ears. So in this work, Prokofiev's 1st, she fails utterly. This work should sparkle.

Marquez is a real snooze fest. Dudamel keeps trotting it out. Huapango is a great listen for me and someone
like Herrera de la Fuente makes it come alive. Dudamel not so much.

Someone here said she was encroaching
    Dudamel territory. Pleasssseeeee.

I think I said something similar, but made no judgement about the musical results. For me, Bernstein ruled in Revueltez and Chavez, at least as recorded. After hearing de la Parra's plodding Prokofiev, my estimation of her has gone down. I am not
absolutely convinced about her Revueltas etc., either. Seems very well played but on reflection a little too polite and polished maybe?
