Recent discussion raises the question (to me) of TD’s legacy at
Philips and the reissues for which he was directly responsible. Of
course, there was the Great Pianists but what were else was there? Am
I correct to understand he created the largely successful Duo series
for Philips? I know of the nicely remastered Arrau box and the
recently discussed Schmidt-Isserstedt Beethoven box. What others were there? Mark’s post leads me to believe there have been numerous
others.
I’m not issuing any opinion on TD’s work and I’m not asking for any, I’m just curious as to his record of reissues that may be directly credited to him. Of course, the best one to answer would be Tom, but
