Or did you mean disinformative? That article is
nothing more than a mechanically assembled
liszt that unwittingly (or perhaps deliberately)
omits a number of performances that cannot

    Midori
    Vanessa Mae
    Mayuko Kamio

Szeryng's several recordings of the work are all
outstanding. If I had to pick just one it would be
one with Dorati conducting the LSO over the
better known Munch and Haitink recordings.

Bonus points to anyone who can identify the

He did mention Chen, Chung and Chang.
I wouldn't say that Ida Haendel's Tchaikovsky deserved to be noticed. Didn't even know she recorded it.

The wrier also displays an obscene derogatory
attitude towards highly individual artists. e.g.
"If helter-skelter risk-taking is your thing, try

    appropriate for describing sporting events.

The reviewer was very polite about Gitlis' performance. Ivry didn't only dare to sound ugly, he even sound ugly where he had no reason to sound so.

The Gramophoney is as phoney as ever, and
becoming even more so issue by issue.

The review didn't 'sound' like The Gramophone at all. This reviewer really tried to be informative.

Haendel was the ultimate violin prodigy. She made the finals
of the 1935 Wieniawski competition at age 7 that was won
by Ginette Neveu, with Oistrakh placing second. Herman
would not have listened to her until 1946!

I’m sure all the recommended versions have something special about them. Having said that I’m surprised that no one mentioned Heifetz. I know it’s rather fashionable here to berate him these days. To me, he was a force of nature. His Tchaikovsky
Concerto with Fritz Reiner particularly is a classic that will stay in print in one form or another for generations to come. The gramophone review cited in the original post pretty much says the same thing and I agree with it.

    Heifetz was a "stuffed suit".

Gitlis between Midori and Haendel? Demonstrating the
difference between playing and scratching the violin?

Different approaches. You can re-arrange as you please.
Just don't mix in any stuffed suits.

One may mix in Kremer, Vengerov or KWC for diversity.

    Vanessa Mae? Are you serious?

Yes, I am. She recorded a remarkable one before
    she switched to pop.

He did mention Chen, Chung and Chang.
    I wouldn't say that Ida Haendel's Tchaikovsky
deserved to be noticed. Didn't even know she
    recorded it.

She performed and/or recorded all the major
    violin concerti.

The wrier also displays an obscene derogatory
attitude towards highly individual artists. e.g.
"If helter-skelter risk-taking is your thing, try
Ivry Gitlis". Such language would barely be
    appropriate for describing sporting events.

The reviewer was very polite about Gitlis'
performance. Ivry didn't only dare to sound
ugly, he even sound ugly where he had no
    reason to sound so.

Matter of taste. Gitlis was a genius, unlike
    most other fiddlers.

The Gramophoney is as phoney as ever, and
becoming even more so issue by issue.

The review didn't 'sound' like The Gramophone
at all. This reviewer really tried to be informative.

    "Informative"?!? ROTFL !!!

I’m sure all the recommended versions have something special about them. Having said that I’m surprised that no one mentioned Heifetz.

See initial post of this thread. (True, ChapGPT did not mention him,
but that may also qualify as "no-one".)
