• The Elgar Viola Concerto: new recording.

From Andrew Clarke@21:1/5 to All on Sun Jan 15 02:25:35 2023
Actually, it's a new recording of an arrangement of the Cello Concerto by violist Lionel Tertis which was approved by the composer himself. Coupled with a suite by Bloch.

I always check YouTube when something comes up that is new to me! ... Sure enough, there's a performance of the Elgar Cello / Viola Concerto from Tokyo in 2017 with Mari Adachi playing the viola ...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzGwIxjhgrs

Similarly, there's also Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations for Cello played by Maxim Rysanov, viola, at the Last Night of the 2020 Proms in London but the video quality is poor and uploaded in the incorrect screen ratio too ...
