    Stokowski performed Rorem's "Eagles" with the Boston SO in 1964 and having just listened to it on YouTube, in the Louis Lane / Atlanta SO recording, I can only wonder why. What on earth that monotonous cacophony has got to do with very large birds
    remains a mystery.

    I like his sonatas for piano solo, in particular #2 performed by Katchen.
