    did not. Go figure. Competitions are rigged,
    are they not?

    Maria Mazo also performed the Hammerklavier
    at the 2005 Cliburn rodeo. It turned out not to be
    a winning strategy.

    The fundamental problem with performing such
    works in competitions is that is very difficult to
    deliver performances that would make the jury
    stand in awe. The downside far exceeds any
    potential upside.
