Meticulous is for metronome and watch makers.

    I'll keep the music.

Listening to some on the finalists tonight. I like Kevin Chen. Not impressed by Kaoruko Igarashi. Haven't heard Sergey Belyavsky or Zijian Weiun yet. It's on YT tonight.

Listened to some of Zijian Weiun playing Liszt and it was rather bland so lost interest. Listening to Belyavsky playing Prokofiev which is good though not great. I'd say it was between him and Chen. I haven't heard any of their previous recitals so can't
choose with any certainty, and in any case I usually disagree with the jury in these kind of competitions. My heart says Chen and my head says Belyavsky.....

I'm getting the feeling that the sound has been quite heavily compressed for broadcast. All four finalists lack dynamics, and it's hard to judge what they are actually playing. Anyone else notice this?

17yr old Chen wins. He has done quite well as he also won the Franz
    Liszt last year.

Thanks! Very young musicians are 'in' these days.
