I have it on good authority that he was in Israel Oct 2-19 and not paying much attention to RMCR. On Oct. 27 he had a lobectomy of the middle lobe of his right lung due to a small malignant tumor. He is doing amazingly well 5 days post surgery. No pain,
ambulatory, no breathing problems. Miraculous, really. Switching to first person... I was lucky to have had Covid in March 2020 and pneumonia which caused me to have an x-ray that revealed the tumor. Otherwise, I would still be walking around with as
it caused no symptoms. I am not totally free and clear until I get a good pathology report on lymph nodes that were removed. If they show cancer (Dr. doesn't think it is likely), then a course of Chemo. No guarantees.

If a person can have a good time in the hospital, I did. The nurses, PAs, therapists were spectacularly professional (as far as I could tell), and caring. It's nice to be called honey. I'm going to suggest it to my wife.

    Thanks for your concern.

But I don't harbor antisemitic attitudes. Not having a marked preference for Jewish violinists does not equal antisemitism, last time I checked.

    antisemitism, last time I checked.

Just like all other forms of racism,
    antisemitism has many nuances,
    shades and degrees, some of
    which my be subconscious.

Also note that some forms may
    actually be cultural rather than
purely intellectual. I once had a
    German boss who was friendly
    towards Jews, yet somehow he
managed to get pissed off by
every Jewish engineer he hired --
and he fired them all. His brain
was simply wired in a way that
    somehow led him to disagree
with the best engineers he had
hired, who were all Jewish. He
ended up firing every single one.
    The company then collapsed.

Looking at things from a purely
    statistical perspective is seems
    rather odd that a professional
musician (and a fiddler no less)
    never has anything positive to
    say about Jewish musicians.

As always, I would be happy to
    be proven wrong.

Huh? Is this your way of saying the best
classical guitar is no classical guitar?
a young kid playing Tears in Heaven...
sigh. that's dk's idea of "classical guitar....
    but she's a nubile Asian woman! that's
    sufficiently classical to him

I did not say "Asian" or "Woman" anywhere!
This is what YOU SAW! You clearly did not
even bother to listen. Kyuhee Park is one
of the top classical guitarists of the past
decade. She is considered by many to be
the best classical guitarist they heard, and
this includes folks who heard Segovia,
    Yepes, Bream, Williams, Barrueco and
    others.

You clearly did not listen, or even look
around enough to notice the guitar, a
    Daniel Friederich masterpiece. If you
had listened for just a few seconds
you might have noticed its sound,
and you might have noticed this is
a classical guitarist, not a pop idol.

Any musician with a brain larger
than a pea knows that classical
    guitarists often cross boundaries
    across classical, flamenco, South
    American and so on.

All you noticed was "a young kid"
playing Tears in Heaven (IIRC she
is 37), and "a nubile Asian woman".
This is what your eyes and your
    brain are hardwired to noticed.

If you had the slightest trace of
    decency you would apologize.

    Brainfucked imbecile!

There is just one, ONE person on RMCR who relentlessly talks about posters' and musicians ethnicity, often in a marked negative way, and that is you.

It may be that you're just a relic of times people did this, the Fifties or something, people didn't know better, but you do always bring up people's ethnic identity, and often in a hateful manner.

No you would not be happy, because this is just another instance of your well-documented campaigns to oust members from RMCR whom you're unhappy with.
And as to your bizarre fake documentation that I have 'never said anything positive' about a Jewish musician. Recently I talked about how much I admired Raphael Hillyer, the violist of the sixties Juilliard Quartet. Just an example of the way you're
lying all the time to further your hate campaigns.
However, obviously I did not praise him as a Jewish viola player; I don't think anybody here does that kind of thing. Except for you, always dragging in people's race or ethnicity.

You just said you never said "Asian" and a few minutes later it's just "statistics" to mention they're Asian of CJK.
As if Schnabel used to be introduced as 'the Jewish pianist." Well, you would do this.
I am not paranoid, the one person with a whole scala of psychiatric tics here is you (have you had your daily covid vaccine yet?).
I'm just pointing out that no one else mentions musicians' and posters' ethnicity as relentlessly as you. I have no idea as to your motives, I'm sorry, I just don't care. If you want to talk about your motives go see a shrink.

As always, I would be happy to

No you would not be happy, because this is
just another instance of your well-documented
campaigns to oust members from RMCR whom
    you're unhappy with.

This is bizarre beyond imagination. I am
perfectly happy with anyone and everyone
posting here. This is an open, unregulated
newsgroup. No one has the authority, let
alone the means. to kick anyone out.

And as to your bizarre fake documentation
that I have 'never said anything positive'
about a Jewish musician. Recently I talked
about how much I admired Raphael Hillyer,
the violist of the sixties Juilliard Quartet.

You are proving my point. You are a violinist,
and the only Jewish string player you mention
is a VIOLIST, no matter how good ?!? Not one
word about Kreisler, Oistrakh, Kogan, Heifetz,
    Huberman, Elman, Milstein, Szeryng, Kremer,
Menuhin, Vengerov, Gitlis or Haendel? As if
    they never existed?

Just an example of the way you're lying all
the time to further your hate campaigns.

You are clearly paranoid. Always looking for
or claiming some conspiracy or ulterior

However, obviously I did not praise him as a
Jewish viola player; I don't think anybody here
does that kind of thing. Except for you, always
dragging in people's race or ethnicity.

When people deserve it -- as you do Mr. Gouda!

And why shouldn't a Jew feel proud of the fact
our small nation has produced and is producing

I have it on good authority that he was in Israel Oct 2-19 and not paying much attention to RMCR. On Oct. 27 he had a lobectomy of the middle lobe of his right lung due to a small malignant tumor.    He is doing amazingly well 5 days post surgery.
No pain, ambulatory, no breathing problems.  Miraculous, really.  Switching to first person... I was lucky to have had Covid in March 2020 and pneumonia which caused me to have an x-ray that revealed the tumor.  Otherwise, I would still be walking
around with as it caused no symptoms.

Just saw this.  Wishing you all the best.  My late dad, who had been a 2 pack/day smoker for 35 years, had a lobectomy (upper lobe R lung) at about age 82.  He was staged 1B; had no chemo or radiation, lived about another 9 years and died of
    something else.
Hope you have a quick and full recovery, and only good news from biopsy and/or scans.

Thanks for the good wishes, Steve. Got the pathology report and it could be better and could be worse. No cancer in lymph nodes, but "pleural invasion" is present. Haven't met with surgeon yet, so I don't know what this means. Chemo? No chemo? Kiss
of death? No big deal? No idea. One literature review said it is a poor predictor of outcomes in the case of small tumors. Despite my libertarian leanings, I think it is doubtful whether patients should be able to read their test results before
meeting with the doctor. I can't think of a good reason why they should and can thing of several why they shouldn't. The argument against this, of course, is that the patient can always refuse to look.

what this means. Chemo?  No chemo?  Kiss of death?  No big deal?  No idea.  One literature review said it is a poor predictor of outcomes in
the case of small tumors. Despite my libertarian leanings, I think it is doubtful whether patients should be able to read their test results
before meeting with the doctor.  I can't think of a good reason why they should and can thing of several why they shouldn't.  The argument
against this, of course, is that the patient can always refuse to look.

Hi Frank. Really sorry to hear the news about your health. My brother is
a physician and I tried to ask him questions in general terms, but he
(probably rightly) is reluctant to get involved. You probably have
already seen info on the web, but here is a good explanation and
    diagram: https://www.cancer.org/cancer/lung-cancer/detection-diagnosis-staging/staging-nsclc.html

    I hope everything goes well!

What is the point of publishing these
ng stats every month? Are you acting
as a self appointed CEO or business
    managers?

How about posting some stats about
your performance as a physician? E.g.
the number of patients you treat and
the fraction you cure every month?
