    Tom Smothers, singer and bass player of the Smothers Brothers, has died of cancer, age 86. His brother Dick survives him. Their first album, "Live At The Purple Onion," was released in 1961. They soon became more famous for their comedy routines than

    Yes, but they didn't really do straight music. The songs were usually comedic.
