That's pretty old. Nowadays he claims to have 190,000 forty-fives. Another collector who has lived his entire life with his parents. He's a year younger than me, just turned 65 in September. Made good money as an accountant who headed up a few accounting
departments at pretty big companies. No doubt he lived at home his whole life so he could spend more money on records.

His father is like 92 and his mother like 88. She still makes his lunch every day now that he's retired. Naturally he's taken over their entire house with his records. You need a lot of room to store 190,000 forty fives, not to mention whatever number of
78s and albums that he also has.

Bill Olb also lived at home his entire life, and when his parents died he stayed in that same house. Also made real good money as a banker who started as a teller and ended up as a VP loan officer. He lives just a couple of miles from where I lived from
like 1975 to 1982 or so. I used to see him every week or so for several years as he let me borrow records that I needed when I was making my tapes of the R&B hits from every year, from 1950 through 1956. Long time friend, although there's some friction
now as he is a Republican who supported Trump from 2015 through like 2021. He says he doesn't want Trump to run this time, but says he would not go back and change his last 2 votes for Trump in 2016 and 2020. So I do question his sanity these days.

I'm not sure who's more pathetic: Johnny G for still living at home, or his parents for enabling his immaturity.

Why does it not surprise me that an elderly white man who has never lived away from his parents also is a Trump supporter? Or as I've taken to calling them, the Dupes of Hazzard.

after downloading any of these mp3s, opening in Windows Media Player
is recommended because WMP has the widest possible progress/timeline
bar (full screen width) - which makes it easier to return to a

Do you have "de-banking" over there?

It's all the rage here with banks taking it into their heads to suddenly terminate the bank accounts of quite a few people----seemingly because their beliefs, ideals and values do not tally with those of the bank.

I leave you to guess which way the political wind is blowing on this but whether this be done to right or left wing folk it is equally outrageous and equally reprehensible

No, but You would not have brought it up unless the liberals were doing it to your kind.

So when you say terminate, what happens? They send the person a check for what's in their account and just tell them they don't want their business anymore?

    Apparently not.

In the highest profile case so far (one Nigel Farage) all his accounts with Coutts (reputedly the bank the Royal Family uses) were simply terminated. He was informed of this by letter I believe
leaving all his money on deposit with them in limbo. This was HUGE news here all over TV and newspapers for a fortnight or so with Farage in the forefront and being denied replacement banking facilities by many other banks. It ended with a couple of real
high up folk at the bank resigning their posts but the accounts still weren't revived.

A few days ago Farage announced on TV that all was well and that Lloyds were taking him on as a customer with his accounts transferred to them.

According to what I just read, this being done for political reasons is rare. That it mainly happens because they deem the depositor to be risky for one reason or another.

So they shut down the account but don't give you the money until you find another bank that will give you an account there. THEN they will transfer your money to the new bank. I also read that they are making new laws/regulations that banks will no
longer be able to do this without giving the customer 60 or 90 days notice so that the customer can with draw their money before the account gets closed.

Citibank employee fired after lying about having 2 coffees, sandwiches, and pastas alone

A financial analyst who was fired by Citibank for allegedly lying about meal expenses lost a wrongful dismissal lawsuit filed in a London court against the large bank.

Former analyst Szabolcs Fekete sued Citibank last year after he was fired for gross misconduct when he claimed he was the only one who consumed two coffees, two sandwiches, and two pasta dishes during a work trip to Amsterdam.

According to court documents, when Fekete was asked about the expenses in an email in July 2022, he said he had "checked the receipt and did not see anything out of order… I was on the business trip by myself and I had 2 coffees as they were very small.
    "

Fekete later admitted his partner, who was not a Citibank employee, was on the trip with him and shared the meals with him.

He added that he was well within the company's 100 euro expense limit and doesn't think he has to "justify" his eating habits to "this extent.”

The financial analyst claimed he was going through personal issues and was on strong medications when he sent the emails.

Judge's ruling not about the amount of money
Employment Judge Caroline Illing ruled in favor of Citibank last month. Illing said the dismissal was fair because Fekete was not initially honest about the expenses.

"In considering the substantial merits of this case, I have found that this case is not about the sums of money involved," Illing said.

"It is significant that the claimant did not make a full and frank disclosure at the first opportunity and that he did not answer questions directly."
