Bobby Thomas (1935-2012) began his career as lead singer for the Vibranaires ("Doll Face", 1954) in Asbury Park, New Jersey. A lifelong fan of the Orioles, Bobby joined Sonny Til and performed and recorded with the group from 1966 into 1975. After Sonny'
s death in late 1981, Bobby initially organized a tribute group to the original Orioles and continued leading the group for the next 30 years until his death. At the time of this September 10, 1995 performance for the P.O.R.C.C. in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, the Orioles included Thomas, Michael Hartsfield (first tenor), Philip Thomas (second tenor-baritone), Jimmy Roache, the original bass singer from the Vibranaires (1933-2021) and the Orioles’ original bass Johnny Reed, who had recently
returned to the lineup and would remain until his death in 2005. "Gettin’ Tired, Tired, Tired" was recorded by the Orioles in 1952.
