Okay guys, September is a pre-1947 month. Then we'll take October off, and have another regular 1947-1963 contest in November, followed by the Tournament of Champions in December as usual.

    4. Turn Me Loose The Lamplighters -18

A Trump disciple all the way and just as wrong as him.

Trump, the polling leader for the Republican nomination, has
repeatedly declined to condemn or rule out political violence.

As a candidate, in 2015 and 2016, he encouraged rallygoers to rough up
    hecklers and protesters.

And on Jan. 6, 2021, and ever since, he has praised his supporters who
attacked police and broke into the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to
    overturn the 2020 election.

In the recent Tucker Carlson interview:
Trump repeatedly avoided Carlsons invitations to speculate on whether
he could be targeted for assassination.

This is the first time I've seen the open suggestion of Trump being assasinated. But I'm sure that countless millions of ordinary decent
American adults have secretly relished the idea. But not supposedly
oppressed Dennis. The establishment might be corrupt to some
degree but it can't be anywhere near as corrupt as the malignant
narcissist and destructively divisive Donald Trump.

Donald Trump has no genuine caring feelings for ordinary Americans,
    his personal ego prevails.

A Trump disciple all the way and just as wrong as him.

Trump, the polling leader for the Republican nomination, has repeatedly declined to condemn or rule out political violence.

As a candidate, in 2015 and 2016, he encouraged rallygoers to rough up hecklers and protesters.

And on Jan. 6, 2021, and ever since, he has praised his supporters who attacked police and broke into the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to overturn the 2020 election.

In the recent Tucker Carlson interview:
Trump repeatedly avoided Carlson’s invitations to speculate on whether
he could be targeted for assassination.

This is the first time I've seen the open suggestion of Trump being assasinated. But I'm sure that countless millions of ordinary decent American adults have secretly relished the idea. But not supposedly oppressed Dennis. The establishment might be corrupt to some
degree but it can't be anywhere near as corrupt as the malignant narcissist and destructively divisive Donald Trump.

Donald Trump has no genuine caring feelings for ordinary Americans, his personal ego prevails.
Hey Geoff, I don't give an flying fuck into a rolling donut what a foregn smooth-brained nincompoup think or say about anything.
Does that mean you would vote for Trump even after felony convictions?

It's quite simple. They are all racists.

So, they hate non whites more than they hate white Yankees?

I don't think that all Republicans are racists, but certainly almost all racists are Republicans. But there's also subtle forms of subconscious racism that even the biggest liberals can have.

Here's a post that very liberal Dean made on Facebook day or two ago.

Aug. 24, 1915: Blues shouter Wynonie Harris was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He had a series of smash hits on the R&B charts in the late '40s and early '50s. His best-known recording is 1948's “Good Rockin' Tonight,” which historians consider one of the
first rock 'n' roll records. (Elvis Presley did his own version for Sun Records in 1954.)

    I answered it and said:

Wynonie does not need to be validated by telling us that some real famous white rocker also recorded a version of Wynonie's best known recording.

Here's the rest of that thread:

Dean Fiora-Farrell - Yes, Your Petulance.

Bruce Roberts Grossberg - That doesn't make sense.
    pet·u·lance
    /ˈpeCHələns/
    noun
the quality of being childishly sulky or bad-tempered.

There's nothing childish or bad tempered about pointing out the subtle racism that even those who are really not racists still have embedded in them. Something inside you makes you feel that it makes Wynonie seem more impressive if some real famous white
    act was influenced by him.

Dean Fiora-Farrell - OK, how about Your Pissiness?

Bruce Roberts Grossberg - Dean Fiora-Farrell That's okay.

I admit I get very pissy when I see these kinds of subtle forms of racism, which in many cases, people do not even realize that they are engaging in.

I don't think it's that simple. The Republicans turned on Nixon for far lesser crimes than what Trump has done. There's something else going on with this cult of personality. 78% of Republicans today say that Trump did not commit any crimes. Part of it
is how we get our news these days. If you only listen to and watch conservative media, you're much more likely to believe that Trump did nothing wrong. And that Biden is some kind of criminal mastermind whose presidency has been a disaster.

I'm wondering why this supposed multi-billionaire would use a bail bondsman in Georgia.

Why piss away 20K for a bail bondsman when he could easily put up his own 200K and get it back after the trial. For those of you who don't know how it works, if you use a bail bondsman you pay him 10% of the bail amount, and he puts the money up for your
bail. You don't get your 10% back, that's the bondsman profit in exchange for him putting up the bail money.

I'm thinking that maybe in the back of his mind Trump is contemplating skipping the country if he is about to go to jail. It's happened many times in the past with leaders from other countries. They go to some country that does not have an extradition
treaty with the country they are leaving. In many cases they do this to avoid being killed in the streets the way that Mussolini and Gaddafi were done in after they were overthrown, but some have also did it to avoid prosecution and/or prison.

    Two observations:

Isn't this like cutting off one's nose to spite one's face? I remember Diane didn't want to participate in the obscurities contest with only eight voters.

The Democrats better watch out in 2024. If they renominate Biden, Trump may just sneak away with a victory. Biden is looking slow, tired and confused already. I made a vow never to vote Republican again when they nominated Trump, but it doesn't mean I
would vote for any Democrat. They would have to have a viable, alert candidate who shares many of my positions to get my vote.

It's usually in a spot where they are telling the audience that conservatives are using this clip to try and say that Biden is senile.

    BTW, a great list Roger.

And I was actually thinking perhaps on one of our down months, we
could do a genre contest, from a given list like this one.
    ------------
If it's rockabilly, count me out.  I can't stand most of it. Maybe 2% >>>> I actually like.  Now, if we had an all-Jimmy Reed contest....:)

So, just curious. I would assume your 1 out 50, or 2%, would be on this
list. Which one is it ?
It would be 2% on a random list. It's much higher on Roger's 50
favorites. Diane likes around half of this list I'd say.

Glad to hear it, because imho, there are lots of 8s, 9s, & 10s here.
    ------------
Yes, there are a lot of records on this list that I like. Some of my
favorite 1950s records are by Carl Perkins and Johnny Burnette Rock &
Roll Trio. But I dislike Roy Orbison, Mac Curtis, Sonny Burgess, and
most of all Jack Scott. I'm not much of an Elvis fan either. But when
Geoff posted #'s 51-100 of Roger's list, the balloon burst. I dislike
most of them. There are only 12 that I like. You really wouldn't want
me voting in a rockabilly contest. It would be like...well, like voting
    in the Republican primary. :)
