Recently I've been listening to a singer named Margaret Lewis, who recorded for the Louisiana label Royal Audio Music (RAM) in the the late 50s and early 60s. She was a white woman but she had a lot of R&B in her sound.

I went through the archives here to see what had been said about her and I found Jim Colegrove recommending her way back in 2007.

The lesson learned is, always listen to Jim.

She co-wrote "Reconsider Me." I found a 1980 45 on it, on RAM, but I suspect it may be an older recording that was done before the Johnny Adams version from 1969.

Narvel Felts had a #2 Country hit with this song in 1975

    Margaret died March 29, 2019, buried in Shreveport LA;
born April 30, 1939 in Snyder TX

The Royal Audio Music (RAM) label of Shreveport LA was founded and
owned by Mira Smith (guitarist, pianist, songwriter, aka session and
live Hayrider guitarist, *Grace Tennessee*), one of the first women to
    own her own record company.

"The label recorded regional rhythm and blues, rockabilly, blues and
country music artists. RAM's pressings were made by RCA. RAM also
issued recordings on the Clif Records and K Records labels.
RAM recorded most of its music in the mid-1950s to early 1960s, but
due to a tight budget, many of their recordings remained unreleased
for decades. In 1994, Ace Records released a 6-CD box set of RAM
recordings, including many of which had never been issued."

Bob, do you have the Ace CD of the Ram material?

If so, does it give any info on "Reconsider Me?"

When was it was recorded? Was it a demo or a full recording that they just didn't issue until many years later?
