Just Walking In The Rain - Dick Richards with Eddie Zack & His Dude Ranchers

Pleasant enough version of the song (and recorded for Columbia before
Ray did it) but I really only need the Johnnie Ray remake and the
    Prisonaires original

    Duck Tail - Rudy Grayzell

The two versions of this number are ascloseasthis in my book---I heard
the Joe Clay first way before I ever knew about and caught up with
this Grayzell original. I give the edge to the Clay---just!

On The Street Where You Live - Vic Damone

It was 1958 before we got this here since in those days music from hit
Broadway shows was usually held up for UK release until the show
opened in London. Which is exactly what happened with "My Fair Lady"
when Julie Andrews finished her stint in the NYC Broadway version she
came back to London in 1958 to open in the London Drury Lane show

So popular was the music from the show over here that Damone scored a
    #1 hit with this one

Singing The Blues - Marty Robbins

I remember reading somewhere years ago that Melvin Endsley was
supposed to have recorded a studio demo of this but it has never
surfaced. Meantime here's how I rate the three main versions :-

    Guy Mitchell - 8
    Marty Robbins - 7
    Jerry Lee Lewis (1957) - 7

    Sixteen Chicks - Link Davis

EXACTLY what I wrote about "Duck Tail" and Joe Clay earlier applies
    equally well here

Cops And Robbers - Bo Diddley

Again not much in it with the two versions on my list. Bo edges it but
not by much over the Boogaloo (and his Gallant Crew( original

Danny White and the Cavaliers were a top attraction at the Golden Cadillac. In November 1956 Huey "Piano" Smith took White to Jackson, Mississippi to meet Ace records owner Johnny Vincent. Smith produced and played piano on several uptempo songs White
recorded for Ace, including "Let's Play", "Educated Fool", and the rocking "Too Late". None were released at the time.
