Gonna try and make this 50 songs each night.
Sweet Rockin' Baby - Sonee West
Very much the flipside of the better "Rock-Ola Ruby" that Sonny West
recorded for Norman Petty on his own Nor-Va-Jak label
Lonesome Train - Johnny Burnette Trio
My introduction to the Burnette Trio when I saw the "Rock! Rock! Rock!
movie

Pretty Little Girl - Chimes
Nothing to do with the later white "Once In A While" guys this group
had some nice releases on Specialty of which this is one. They also
went under the name of "The Champs" backing Tony Allen on the classic
"Nite Owl" for the label
Rockin' Rollin' Stone - Andy Starr
The best of his several MGM singles this was a MONSTER seller when it
was repro'd back in the 70's. This guy also recorded under his real
name Frank Starr where the much sought after "Dig Them Squeaky Shoes"
was his debut release on Lin in 1955
Jumps, Giggles And Shouts - Gene Vincent & Blue Caps
Excellent number by the boys that was only an LP (and EP) track in USA
but became a Capitol single here in the UK backed with "Wedding Bells
(Are Breaking Up That Old Gang Of Mine)"
Smokestack Lightnin' - Howlin' Wolf
My introduction to the mighty Wolf in the early 60's when I found a
copy of the UK EP below in a London flea market for pennies

Chonnie-On-Chon - James Brown
Followiing Diane's nomination it was great seeng this one by Soul
Brother No.1 in best Little Richard mode make it all the way to the
Semi Finals of the April 2021 Obscurities tournament
Ain't He Sweet - Sensations
I like the later "Let Me In" and several others by Yvonne and The
Sensations but sadly this one is another of those songs I detest by
anybody]
Hot Dog! That Made Him Mad - Wanda Jackson
When I first heard this by Wanda I thought it was a nice revamp of the
1953 Betty Hutton novelty I remembered from childhood. It was YEARS
later before I ever heard the REAL original version---from all the way
back in 1938 courtesy Blu Lu Barker

Church Bells May Ring - Willows
Original copies read "Church Bells Are Ringing" but the title listed
above is the one it became hugely popular under and fought off covers
from the Cadets (good) and The Diamonds (not so good). And this
definitive Willows gem became the only 1956 version to see light of
day over here in UK
