So it's down to Croatia vs. Argentina in one semi, and Morocco vs. the winner of this current game in the other. There hasn't been a repeat winner since Brazil in 1962, but France has a good chance to end that drought.

The USA has never won, but England hasn't won since 1966, so it's not like they have been so spectacular in the last 55 years.

2-1 France in the 90th minute now.

England's last chance on a free kick just outside the box, and it sails just a cunt hair high and over the goal and into the back stantion. Then time expires.

France wins 2-1, will face Morocco on Wednesday.

I thought we played pretty well and did a pretty good job of
containing Mbappe which was the main worry for fans over here.

But nobody foresaw that penalty from hell that ultimately cost us the
game. But......that's football. And there'll be another chance in 2026

Meantime congratulations to the French team and as their next door
neighbours we will wish them well against Morocco

I think Bruce probably means the surefire penalty that the ref should
have awarded England---but didn't---in the first half when Harry Kane
    was tripped.

The "penalty from hell" that I was talking about was the miss at the
very end of the game when Kane blazed it way over the bar

Same thing I was talking about. I took "penalty from hell" to mean that the penalty was against England. Here we always refer to it as a "penalty kick" or PK.

I was sitting in the barber's chair today with the game on about 10 feet away on a big screen TV. They were watching the Spanish version of the broadcast. I did not understand almost anything that was being said, but somehow it's just more exciting with
the Spanish speaking announcers doing the game than with the English speaking guys.

By the way, Argentina clobbered Croatia, 3 to nil.

Thank you, didn't think of that. The words matter phonetically. The Spanish delivery is so much more emotional.
