• Dylan and Lennon

I read an interview where John claimed he went though
    a "Bob Dylan phase".
    ?

Which album or songs display such influence?
    I don't see (hear) it.

"You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" from the Help! album.

"You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" from Help! is blatantly Dylanesque.

The thing is, Lennon's Dylan phase was very brief. He said in the Playboy interview that "I haven't listened to Dylan with both ears since 'Highway 64' and 'Blonde on Blonde,' and even then it was because George would sit me down and make me listen."

Dylan's Highway 61 Revisted came out in August of 1965 -- the same month & year as the Beatles' Help!.

Dylan is one of those artists whose greatest hits albums are all I need,
    I own and appreciate Vol. 1, 2 and 3 but that's it.

Well I also own a 19-track "rarities" album from 1962-2006 and few live
gigs I burnt a few years ago but I wouldn't have paid for them.

I don't think John really got Dylan. I don't think he knew what Dylan was after.
On the other hand, I think Dylan had.a kind of obsession about John...
