Not a huge difference, but done deliberately. Actually I prefer your suggestion. Sequenced for a reason doesn't mean that they got it 'right'
    for everybody's taste.

Good Day Sunshine would have been a more suitable track to open the
whole album, rather than opening just Side 2. And Tomorrow Never Knows certainly HAD to be at the very end.

For the in-between tracks I guess the idea was not to have two 'similar'
songs running consecutively. Not difficult in this album because of the
    range of fast/slow/great/not-so-great songs.

The contrast of the serious Here There And Everywhere with the trivial
Yellow Submarine is there I find jarring, and takes away from the first
one. If YS had to be there I'd have put it at the end of Side 1

I'm one of those that considers Rubber Soul and Revolver to be the #1 and #2 albums of all time. It does look like a good suggested order. But I would never trade in the order of the American releases, which are burned into my heart forevermore.

The British releases are of course, outstanding - and preferred by the band. But I love those albums just as they were - and are.

BTW - and off topic - This is a REALLY good radio station. It's free, from Arizona. Classic Rock catalog - and selected songs - huge and unpredictable... https://www.kcdx.com/listenOnline.php . Click listen online.

    Great if 'unpredictable'.

My local broadcast station The Sound' plays good stuff, but over a
strictly limited time period, and of a playlist that is limited. And
then they get a few 'favorites' and thrash them to death until you can't
    stand them any more.

They have an off-shoot station Thhe Sound -Deeper cuts, which play the
less 'hitty' material off albums, but again just the playlist and the repetition.

http://radio.gerden is great for listening to pretty much all stations worldwide, with mobile apps as well.

But, the American RUBBER SOUL is just a partially made up album which includes songs from the HELP album. If you really cared about what the artists wanted for the album, you wouldn't cling to a chopped up version of the album thrown together by a record
    label.

It just goes to prove my point, that whatever sequence you heard back then is the one that you think is the best. If they had been picked out of a hat and released that way, that would be the one that "burned into your heart forevermore."

Song sequencing is an unsung art I think. I think some albums can be
vastly improved by rearranging the songs, here's one example by Billy
    Joel, An Innocent Man:

    Released version:

    Easy Money
    An Innocent Man
    The Longest Time
    This Night
    Tell Her About It

    Uptown Girl
    Careless Talk
    Christie Lee
    Leave a Tender Moment Alone
    Keeping The Faith

    My version:

    Tell Her About It
    An Innocent Man
    Uptown Girl
    The Longest Time
    Leave A Tender Moment Alone

    Easy Money
    Careless Talk
    Christie Lee
    This Night
    Keeping The Faith

That's really the only Billy Joel album I had a problem with as far as sequencing, he did a good job on all the other classics from the '70s
and '80s (and having Phil Ramone around didn't hurt either).
