• People Who Accurately Predicted Their Own Violent Deaths

From Norbert K@21:1/5 to All on Sat Dec 18 06:56:37 2021
    1. John Lennon. Producer Jack Douglas and personal assistant Frederic Seaman both state that Lennon predicted his own violent demise to them.

    2. Harvey Milk. The openly gay SF city supervisor knew that he might be assassinated. Remarkably, Milk and his boyfriend were walking in the SF city hall one day in 1978 when they passed former supervisor Dan White. Milk's boyfriend commented that
White was handsome. Milk replied, "He's a closet case. And there is nothing more dangerous than a closet case." White fatally shot Milk and SF Mayor George Moscone days later.

    3. Eleanor "Muff" Graham. Graham was, along with her husband Malcolm "Mac" Graham, one of the victims of the notorious Palmyra murders. Even before departing for Palmyra, Muff began dispersing her belongings among her friends and relatives, certain
that she would not return from the voyage. Upon reaching Palmyra, Muff repeatedly expressed her dislike and fear of the "hippie couple," Stephanie Stearns and "Buck" Walker, who had reached the atoll days earlier. Walker was later convicted of Muff's
murder; Vincent Bugliosi temporarily persuaded the jurors that Stearns was innocent. At least one of the jurors (the foreman) eventually realized he'd been duped; Stearns is a murderer.

This is from Fred Seaman's book:

John talked about "weird" recurring dreams in which he suffered a violent death. Sounding grim and apprehensive, John said that hye assumed that because he had led a life filled with violence, both in thought and in deed, he was destined to die a
violent death. He told me he often fantasized about getting shot, which, he said, was a modern form of crucifixion, a rather element means of moving on to the next life with a clean karmic slate. He was very serious, very impersonal, and spoke without
any visible feelings -- as if he wer thinking out loud.

    [End of excerpt.]

I don't have the Douglas interview at hand; it's probably online. Yoko has also gone public with an anecdote about John waking her up in the night, expressing the conviction that he would die, and asking her if she would be okay without him.

Thank you. How distressing that must have been for both of them.

    Yeah.

Also, Goldman describes how Lennon would grill Norman Seaman (a gunshot survivor) in granular detail about what it was like to be shot.

I gave my copy of Goldman's book away, as it was so dark. I'll have to get another copy.

    Thanks, that's a good interview.

Jack Douglas was one of Goldman's many sources. One of the things Douglas mentioned is that as Double Fantasy neared completion , Lennon's general confidence increased. He asked Douglas' girlfriend Christine Desautels if she thought women would find
him attractive. Lennon expressed a particular interest in the Swedish actress (she's in two Bond films) Maud Adams. Desautels had a connection to Adams, and was working towards arranging a date between Lennon & Adams prior to his murder.
