• A Couple of Favorite "Get Back" Moments

From Norbert K@21:1/5 to All on Mon Dec 13 10:12:11 2021
Early in the third segment of the show, Paul's young's daughter Mary is telling the guys about her new kittens. All of the guys interact charmingly with her, but Lennon riffs with her about eating the kittens. "You can't eat them," she says, "They were
    just born!"

In the same segment, young Mary sings the chorus of "Let It Be" along with the others. Then Yoko makes an appearance as vocalist -- and Mary reacts with what looks to me like a combination of bewilderment and horror. Mary herself is given a microphone -
    - and she does an impression of Yoko's vocals!

When Paul notices, during a rooftop performance of "Get Back," that the ;police have arrived to shut things down, he incorporates this into the song: "get back, Jo. Or you'll be playing on the roof again. Your mother doesn't like that. She's gonna
    have you arrested."

Overall, this was so much more fun and multifaceted than Let It Be

That's not Mary, that's Heather, his adopted daughter who was like 6-7 years old then, from Linda's first marriage. Mary was not even born yet in January 1969.

Thanks for the correction. She was obviously comfortable with her new stepfather & his friends.

When Paul and Linda first started up, Paul would babysit Heather while Linda was working sometimes, in New York. By the time Linda moved to the UK with Paul, Paul usually put Heather to bed every night. Heather's real father was some Academic that had no
interest in her, so I'm sure she considers Paul to be her father.
