In 1974, the bone fragments of a 3.2 million year-old hominid were
discovered by scientists in Ethiopia; the skeletal remains were
    nicknamed "Lucy."

Why do I bring this up here? Because, while the Globe does not mention
this, the discoverers of these fragments, led by Donald Johanson, were
Beatles fans. They named this hominid after "Lucy in the Sky with
    Diamonds." True story.

In 1991, Sean Lennon's remake of his father's "Give Peace A Chance" was released to coincide with the United Nations' midnight deadline for Iraq
to withdraw from Kuwait. The lyrics were updated to reflect concerns of
    the 1990s.

    -- from today's Boston Globe

I can see the importance of these international events, but were Sean
Lennon's antics really newsworthy? I wasn't aware of them at the time.
Also, I would bet they were induced by Yoko. Anyway, I never heard Sean Lennon's version of "Give Peace a Chance," and I'll see if it's
    available online.

The supposed Sean Lennon version of this song is available online. It
is, however, cringeworthy. In fairness, I think it's a bad song to
    begin with.
