John was prone to fits of violence. He owned up to this in one
interview, admitting he had been violent to men and women. One of his
fits had caused to have an abortion, she admitted to her friend Marnie
Hair. Goldman discusses a particularly disturbing episode in which
Lennon had violently beaten a German merchant seaman after noticing the
man's thick roll of money. The man had earlier bought the Beatles food
and drinks at one of the German clubs. Pete Shotton describes being the recipient of an unprovoked punch in the face from John. Shotton hit
John in the face back, and that permanently put a stop to that.
The worst thing about John, however, was his "eating acid like candy."
He turned himself into an acid casualty, which took a toll on his music,
his relationships, and his mind in general. He lost whatever critical
faculty he had once possessed, and became susceptible to deranged
hustlers like Yoko, "Magic" Alex, and -- I contend -- the Maharishi.
BTW, we all probably know of various acid casualties. But how about
dope (marijuana) casualties? I live between two dispensaries, and these screwups shuffle up and down the street, muttering to themselves about
how they want Liz Cheney to face a firing squad and about how they want
to impose tariffs on Mexico. I remember when marijuana users could be
counted on to be peaceful. Today's freaks in suburban Massachusetts all
think they're Donald Trump. It's nauseating.
Anyway, George Harrison was once pressed about the Maharishi's sexual predation, and he denied it. "Ask Mia Farrow," he insisted. Ask her
indeed. She describes the giggling and groping guru's attempt to put
the moves on her in her memoir, What Falls Away.
