I'm not alone here in having used my share of marijuana back in the day.
Maybe some of you still use it. Many of my high school friends were
aspiring musicians and we'd participate in free-for-all jams sessions or
argue over who the best rock drummer was (Peart or Bruford?).
And some of my favorite west coast companies allow pot smoking on the
job, so long as the employee continues to perform properly.
The point, however, is that marijuana use as I understood it was
conducive to peaceful, creative activity.
This was how the Beatles used it, too, albeit at a pinnacle of creative
work on such albums as Rubber Soul.
Something has changed with today's potheads -- at least in suburban Massachusetts. These people are pro-insurrectionist, Trump-mimicking, Q-Anon-believing psychos. There's a particular scruffy character who
shuffles up to the nearest dope dispensary each morning muttering to
himself in a monotone and making strange motions with his hands. I
eventually figured the motions out; he's mimicking the thing Trump does,
the accordion-playing gestures, Trump makes whenever he talks about
crowd size.
