I didn't know Fonda's side of the story, however. This is that the Beatles were all taking LSD on this occasion, and that George was having a bad trip and believed he was dying. Fonda's reason for saying "I know what it's like to be dead" was to
reassure George. (Fonda had nearly died as a child from an accidental gunshot wound.)
The detail that this party took place 7655 Curson Terrace is personally interesting. One of my childhood homes (albeit in the 70s) was right around the corner, on North Curson Avenue. Apparently the home at 7655 Curson Terrace still stands.
On the subject of George & LSD, he once said that "LSD is a drug that you only need to take once." He admitted that he had taken it many times, but one trip was all he "needed."
Did he ever say what he needed the one trip for? Did he ever say what he had learned?
