• Re: Yoko & Mintz: The Interview That Started It All (1971)

This is one of the most cringeworthy so-called interviews I've ever tried to sit through, with Mintz shamelessly kissing Yoko's ass (claiming to be impressed by the "timelessness" of her "work"), and Yoko responding with incoherent babble.

Anyway, this was their first encounter. Afterwards, Mintz contacted Ono again to tell her that his listeners had been enthralled with the interview, and he and Yoko began to communicate frequently. Eventually, Mintz got what he was after -- access to
    John.

I notice that Yoko name-drops Marx quite a bit -- an indication that she is the source of her and Lennon's embracing of radical politics at that time.

Well in all fairness, if he wanted an interview with Yoko I suppose he
had to build her ego up.

and Yoko responding with incoherent babble.

    No surprise there then!
