• Did Paul and John Reconcile Before December of 1980?

I've seen interviews with McCartney from the 90s and 00s in which he claimed that he and John had some sort of conversation in which they had put their differences aside. However, I suspect that this purported dialogue is a product of McCartney's
imagination -- not a lie, but a product of wishful thinking.

In a 1982 interview with Robert Hilburn of the L.A. Times, McCartney stated: "One of the feelings you always have when someone close to you dies like that is that you wish you could have seen him the day before to square everything up and make sure
he knew how much you really cared.

"The song ['Here Today'] is about saying to John, 'Do we really have to kieep this sort of thing [the Lennon-McCartney feud] up?' But we never got around to doing it. I guess we never felt any urgency about it. We were behaving like we were going
to live forever, which is what everyone thought in the Beatles days, right? I mean, whoever thought we were going to die?"
