I have tix to see the great Ringo Starr and the All Starr Band tonight at the Met in Philadelphia...

I will post a review in this space tomorrow.

TOTALLY psyched. (Does anyone say psyched anymore?)

I saw them twice before, but it's been 8 years. They have my fave keyboard player tonight - Gregg Rolie. Best known as longtime player for Santana...

AND I get to see Rolie with Santana next Saturday night!

    WOO-HOOO!

Gregg knows how to get the best out of that Hammond B-3. Love it. I'll be catching the show Sept. 1 at the Greek in L.A. I'm psyched (there's proof for you)
Ringo's band was phenomenal last night! They were tight, their harmonies were dead-on, Ringo's voice was superb!, and the sound at the Met was perfection after the first 2 songs.

The 2019 All Starr Band feature Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Gregg Rolie, Warren Ham, Gregg Bissonette and the return of All Starr alum Hamish Stuart.

I thought Warren Ham was sensational on sax. And Steve Lukather is a killer lead guitar player. Of course, Gregg Rolie soared throughout. He did 4 Santana tunes (which I will have the pleasure of seeing him perform again next Saturday night WITH
    Santana.)

The band plays as if they are studio/stage musicians backing up Ringo Starr, Toto, Average White Band, Men At Work and Santana . They were flawless, and I love when great musicians stretch familiar tunes by adding new jams. 5 stars!

If I had to choose a best song, I say Africa. Also loved Oye Como Va. Weakest song was Ringo's Anthem song, but it was still great.

The following is a playlist - copied from 8/11. They did the same songs in the same order last night...

With a Little Help From My Friends

Steve Lukather fumbled the intro to 'Octapus' Garden' the first try and joked that everyone looked at hom as if he had dementia. I don't think he fumbled too much in his career...
