November 23, 1957: 15-year-old Paul McCartney and 17-year-old John Lennon captured together on camera for the first time.
Also in the frame as members of The Quarry Men for this return gig at the New Clubmoor Hall in Norris Green, Liverpool were Colin Hanton on drums, Len Garry on tea-chest bass and guitarist Eric Griffiths.
Making his debut with the skiffle group at the same venue less than a month earlier, Paul had blown his solo during a rendition of the instrumental ‘Guitar Boogie’. A case of first-night nerves that didn't prevent him from remaining up front
alongside the leader.
