I would expect a musician who was hearing the album for the first time to say *something* about George's guitar solo in "Let It Be."

I can't agree that LiB is "really top-notch." I like "Two Of Us," "I've Got a Feeling," and "Across the Universe, but that's about it. It's not up to previouslly-established Beatles standards, IMO.

I prefer the single version of "Let It Be" without that added solo. "Get Back" too, the single is better IMO. Seems she loved what Spector did to "The Long And Winding Road." I wonder what she would think of the naked version that was what Paul really
wanted in the first place. She loved the orchestral stuff that Paul hated.

I was thinking about "Abbey Road" which is next. It's really the first time that Paul had to settle for third place as far as his songs on that album clearly not being as strong as George's and John's songs. In fact Paul did not get any of his stuff from
"Abbey Road" released as a single. They had a super powerful double A side with "Something" and "Come Together" and if there was a second single surely it would have been "Here Comes The Sun" as the A side.

I hate the orchestral stuff, too. Glyn Johns found the Spector mixes "disgusting" and likened Spector's work to vomit; I agree with him.

Caroline re-titled her LiB review as "My Favorite?" She did indeed seem more enthusiastic about it than she did about Revolver or the White Album. She inhabits a different planet than I do -- but I've known that since she deemed "She's Leaving Home"
    her favorite from Sgt. Pepper's.

She laughed and sung along with the "tit-tit-tit"s in "Girl"; it's not clear if she realized that the guys were referring to the female part.
